The debate comes up with every family booking: will the cheap city car do, or should you go SUV? After hundreds of family rentals, our honest answer: it all comes down to the boot, not the engine.
The boot test
Do the maths: two large suitcases, a beach bag, a stroller. A Sandero takes two suitcases, but the stroller travels on someone's lap. The Duster takes the lot with room to spare. The 7-seat Jogger adds two seats and keeps a usable boot behind them, unique at this price point.
With two kids or fewer
- Hotel stay without day trips: the Sandero or Kardian are plenty
- With a stroller or travel cot: go Duster, you will not regret it
- A baby seat can be added at booking (30 MAD/day), fitted before handover
Three kids and up, or with the grandparents
The Jogger is built for this: seven real seats, not five seats plus two punitive jump seats. Grandparents get in the back without acrobatics, and the diesel stays frugal even fully loaded. For six adults with luggage, consider two city cars: sometimes cheaper and much more flexible on site.
Day trips change the equation
Paradise Valley, the Imouzzer waterfalls, the Tafraout road: the best detours around Agadir end in mountain roads or decent tracks. A city car gets through carefully; an SUV cruises through, AC on full and kids asleep in the back.
