Taghazout surf trip: which rental car for the spots?

In Taghazout, a car is not a comfort, it is surf equipment. The spot that works today is almost never yesterday's, and the best sessions go to whoever arrives first at dawn. Here is how to choose your vehicle.

First, the board question

A shortboard fits in almost anything with the seats down. Two boards and two passengers is another story. The Duster and the Kardian take two 6-foot boards inside, bag included. For a full quiver or a longboard, the Express van is the radical answer: six cubic metres, your boards travel flat without a fight.

Spots you can reach in a city car

The ones that need ground clearance

Boilers and Draculas up north have to be earned: the last kilometre is a rocky track where a city car scrapes. Killer Point at low tide, same subject. With the Duster those approaches become routine, and you park facing the line-up instead of fifteen minutes' walk with the board under your arm and the wind in your face.

The long-stay move
