Renting a car by the month in Morocco: 2026 prices

You are staying several months in Morocco and you want the price of a car by the month. There are actually two different products, with prices that have nothing in common. Here is how to choose between them, with figures.

Classic rental by the month

This is a short-term rental that you extend. At tripn'Go, a city car like the Kia Picanto or the Dacia Sandero rents for around 30 euros a day in normal season, unlimited mileage and basic insurance included, with discounts from 7, 14 and 21 days and a monthly rate beyond 30 days. Depending on season and discount, expect roughly 6,000 to 9,000 dirhams for a full month.

The advantage is flexibility. You can stop when you want, change model, and mileage is not limited. For three weeks or two months, it is the right formula.

Long-term rental, 12 to 36 months

From one year, the maths change. On long-term rental, the Kia Picanto costs 5,520 dirhams excluding VAT per month over 12 months, and 3,920 dirhams over 36 months. The Dacia Logan and Sandero are at the same rates. The Renault Clio 5 is 5,820 dirhams over 12 months and 4,220 over 36. These rates include comprehensive insurance, assistance and a replacement vehicle.

Mileage is unlimited, as on classic rental, and fuel stays at your expense. The contract commits you to the chosen duration, with early termination conditions stated in the contract.

The point where long-term rental becomes cheaper

Over one month, classic rental wins, because you commit to nothing. Over six months, the two get close and flexibility still favours classic rental. From twelve months, long-term rental is clearly cheaper, and the gap widens every year: over 36 months, a Picanto costs under 130 dirhams a day, comprehensive insurance included.

What prices shown elsewhere do not say

Many "monthly" listings show a price without insurance, with a 200 km per day cap in the conditions, or a deposit blocked for the whole stay.
